Description
Elm Trees House is a barn that has been converted into a cottage, dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It underwent conversion in the 19th century and has seen alterations in the 21st century. The building features a timber frame that is rendered, topped with a plain tiled roof that is hipped to the south. There is a single ridge stack to the south, one stack behind the ridge in the center, and another in front of the ridge to the north. The house has three gabled dormers and a single end stack to the south. It is a single storey with an attic, and includes a canted bay to the left with a flat head. The center has a deep recess with a bressumer supported on timber piers, and there are paired windows beside the door in the recess. To the east, there is a long painted brick wing of one storey that projects out, but this part is not listed.
