Description

This is a late 17th or early 18th century house on St James Street, in Lewes. It is timber-framed and has been covered with stucco, with the first floor on the south side being tile-hung. A platband runs along the east side. The roof is tiled, with two brick side stacks, the eastern one projecting. The house has a gable-end facing the street, with a single window on each floor overlooking the street; these are glazing bar sash windows, with a casement window in the garret. The south side has irregular window placement on both floors. The main entrance is on the south side.
