Description
The Lodge is a 19th-century lodge located on the Longwood Estate in Tichborne. It features a T-shaped design and is constructed of brick with a slate roof and stone kneelers. The building is a single-storey, two-bay structure with gabled wings on each side and a gabled porch in the center. The central gable contains a 19th-century four-panelled door with a bracketed gabled hood. To the left of the porch is a single light window with a rubbed brick head, while to the right is a projecting gabled wing that includes a projecting panel with a 20th-century two-light window set in the original opening, also featuring a rubbed brick head and a course of slates above. The gable of this wing has an arrow-slit, and all gables are adorned with kneelers. A ridge stack is positioned at the center of the roof. The lodge is marked with a tablet reading "W.H.E.N, 1842."
