Description
The premises occupied by H E Wakeford, Tailor, is a building that was once two houses and is now used as shops. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and features a timber-framed structure. The east front of the building jetties out, while the south front has been refaced in the 18th century with stucco on the ground floor and tile-hanging above. There is a parapet along the top. The building has sash windows, although the glazing bars are missing. There are two doorways, each adorned with pilasters and pediments; one doorway also features a semi-circular fanlight, while the other has a triglyph frieze. Additionally, there are two 19th-century shop windows. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three windows and one gabled dormer.
