Description
Wisteria House, located on the east side of Market Square in Petworth, is a house that has been converted into an office. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and features a timber frame that was refaced with sandstone ashlar in the 18th century. The building is mostly obscured by a large wisteria tree. It stands three storeys tall and has four windows along with one dummy window. There is a stringcourse above the ground floor, a coved cornice above the first floor, and a cornice with a parapet above the second floor. The glazing bars are intact, and the doorway is topped with a flat hood supported by a carved bracket, leading to a door with eight fielded panels.
