Description

The Flat is a house dating from the late 18th century, constructed from coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings. It features plain gables and stone end ridge stacks, topped with a Welsh slated roof. The building has three storeys and two bays, with glazing bar sashes, some of which are contemporary, set in flush stone frames. There is an off-centre doorway beneath a plain lintel, which contains a 19th-century four-panelled door. A shop window at the southeast end includes a moulded cornice, while sash windows at the northwest end are 19th-century additions. The southeast gable displays a shallow projecting doorcase from the 18th century, featuring bolection moulding around the surround and a moulded hood.
