Description

One Arch Bridge is a road bridge located at the south end of Chatsworth Park, built between 1759 and 1760 by James Paine. The bridge is constructed from coursed squared sandstone and ashlar. It features a single round arch with a triple stepped arch and a plain hoodmould, supported by five plain ribs below. There are triangular buttresses on each bank. The parapet includes a plain band and chamfered coping, rising to the center, with flanking walls on either side. Additionally, there is a doorway with a rusticated surround in the wall to the northeast. The bridge is also scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
