Description

The Cottage is a 17th-century cottage located on the south side of School Lane in Beeley. It is constructed from coursed rubble gritstone with gritstone dressings and features a stone slate roof with coped gables and moulded kneelers. A central ashlar stack is present. The building has two storeys and the north elevation consists of three bays. The central doorway has a chamfered surround made of massive quoins and a lintel. To the right of the doorway is a three-light recessed and chamfered mullion window. Above, there are two similar windows flanking a single light window. The fenestration on the south side has mostly been altered.
