Description

The gate piers and gates located approximately 30 yards east of Wood Lodge date from the early 19th century. They are made of ashlar and feature wrought iron gates. There are four gate piers, all square in shape and aligned north-south. The two outer piers have pyramidal caps, while the two inner piers have chamfered edges with stopped ends and gabled caps that include roll moulded ridges. Simple gates are positioned between the two inner piers, creating an entrance to Ilam Park.
