Description
Imsworth Cottage, Gritston Cottage, and Wainstones are a row of three houses, likely dating from the 18th century, with a refronting that occurred in the early 19th century. The buildings feature a coursed, dressed sandstone facade, with limestone rubble elsewhere, and are topped with a Welsh slate roof.
The houses are two storeys tall, with an attic at the right end due to the sloping ground. Each house has one window on each floor, and there is a short wing at the rear right. The left end of the row connects with Church Cottage, and there are large quoins on the right side. The openings have flush ashlar surrounds and projecting stone sills, with various six-panel doors.
Imsworth Cottage has a door to the right of an 8/8 sash window, which is situated beneath an altered 8/8 sash window that now has 8/1 panes. Gritston Cottage is similar but mirrored; its ground-floor window sill has been lowered and features 2/2 sashes. Wainstones has a door to the left of 20th-century casements on both the ground and first floors, along with a six-pane attic window set beneath the eaves. There is a brick end stack on the right and a ridge stack to the left of Wainstones. The rear elevations are irregular. The interior has not been inspected.
