Description

Old Booth Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of roughcast sandstone with a cement-tile roof and rough-ashlar stacks. The building has a two-room plan with a partial outshut and stands two storeys high. There are three windows on the first floor. The original windows feature double-chamfered mullions, while the ground floor windows have mostly been altered and consist of wood casements throughout.

The lintel of a mullion window now spans a doorway to the left, with a recent single-light casement on each side. The central entrance has a 20th-century part-glazed door, which is flanked on the right by a three-light mullion window and a single-light casement. The first floor includes two three-light and one two-light mullion windows. Each gable has a shouldered, corniced ashlar stack.

Inside, the ground floor on the right retains two equispaced spine beams and a bressumer with an arched door head. An extension to the outshut and an adjoining farmbuilding to the right are not of special interest.
