Description

The Limes is an early 19th-century house located on North Church Street, Bakewell. Constructed with a deeply-coursed, dressed sandstone facade featuring contrasting ashlar dressings, with limestone used elsewhere, the roof is covered in stone slate. The house is three storeys high and has a symmetrical two-window facade. Projecting quoins are visible. The central doorway has a raised and painted stone surround to a six-panel door, the top four panels glazed. The ground floor windows are 8/8 sash windows with slender glazing bars, with painted projecting sills and raised surrounds. The second-floor windows are shorter and feature two-light horizontally-sliding sashes with glazing bars. Red and yellow brick stacks are located at the ends of the building. A multi-pane casement window is present on the right return at the second floor level. The interior was not inspected.
