Description

This is a mid-18th century and early 19th century house, located in the Parish of Tissington. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings, and has a plain tile roof with brick gable end stacks. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the walls. The house is two storeys high. The east elevation consists of a three-bay section, plus a two-bay extension to the right. The left-hand section has a central doorway topped with a bracketed pediment. The door is six-panelled, with the upper two panels glazed. To the right of the doorway is a glazing bar sash window in a moulded stone surround, and to the left, a similar sash window with side lights. Above these are three glazing bar sashes in matching surrounds. Two 19th century gabled dormers are set into the roof, each containing a casement window. The right-hand extension features a canted bay with four glazing bar sashes on the ground floor, and two glazing bar sashes in moulded stone surrounds on the first floor. A drystone garden wall with curved copings runs alongside the property.
