Description
Jasmine Cottage and Fern Cottage are two cottages located on the south side of The Avenue in Tissington, dating from the early 18th century and early 19th century. They are constructed of coursed rubble limestone with gritstone dressings and have a plain tile roof featuring three brick ridge stacks and a brick gable end stack.
The cottages are two storeys high. The east elevation shows Jasmine Cottage on the right, which has a doorway on the right with a plain stone lintel and a plank door. To the left, there are two pairs of 2-light chamfer mullion windows with metal casements, and above these, there are two similar windows. Fern Cottage, on the left, is double fronted with a central doorway that also has a plain stone lintel and a plank door. It is flanked by two 2-light windows; the one on the left is recessed and chamfered, while the one on the right is chamfered. Above, there are two 2-light chamfer mullion windows, all fitted with metal casements.
