Description

North Lodge to Hassop Hall is a lodge built in 1853 by Weightman, Hadfield and Goldie. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features an overhanging Welsh slate roof. The lodge is a single-storey building with a panelled ashlar gabled stack. On the east gable end, there is a 2-light square section mullion window with a raised surround supported by corbels. A recessed porch at the corner includes a two-bay arcade to the north, supported by square piers with moulded capitals and similar responds, leading to a plank door. To the right, there is a bay window with a configuration of 1-3-1 lights and square section raised stonework, topped with a pedimented gable. The west gable end features two single light windows flanking a decorative moulded chimneybreast. An attached wall on the west side has a stone balustrade.
