Description

The building is a school and an attached house, dated 1788, with early to mid 19th century additions. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings. The roofs are made of stone slate and clay tiles with coped verges, and there are ashlar integral end stacks. The design is partly in the Gothic style.

The structure consists of two main sections: a two-storey school on the left and a slightly lower two-storey house on the right. The school has a window arrangement of 1:3, with a slightly projecting gabled wing to the left and a main range to the right. The wing includes a single-storey lean-to extension at the front, which has a triple lancet window above it. The main range features a two-light mullioned window on the ground floor to the right, along with single light windows on the ground floor to the left and centre. The first floor has a double pointed window to the left and tall two-light windows in the centre and to the right.

The house has two mullioned windows; the ground floor right window has two lights, while the first floor right window has two lights and the first floor left window has one light. There is a half-glazed door to the left and a blocked door in the centre, which has a partly obscured inscription above that reads: "......... erected ............ Year 17 ........ by Thomas Green 1788".
