Description
Churchdale Cottage is a cottage dated 1647, but likely built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with gritstone dressings and has a stone slate roof that is covered in bitumen. The cottage features stone gable end stacks and is arranged in two bays over two storeys.
On the north side, there is a chamfered quoined doorcase with a lintel inscribed with 'GV 1647' and a flat hood above it. To the south, there are two 4-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, each with single pane casements. Above these, in gabled dormers, are two 3-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows.
