Description

Four Hermes in the gardens at Thornbridge Hall are late 19th-century stone sculptures. They consist of four allegorical figures, each placed on square pedestals that sit on a stepped base. The pedestals feature reliefs that depict the four seasons represented by the statues. Each statue is inscribed in Greek with the names of spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
