Description

This disused lime kiln, located 300 metres north of Cowburn Rigg Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from squared stone and features a single-cell design that is partly built into the bankside. The front wall is battered and has a corbelled triangular-headed opening. Additionally, there are remains of a segmental-arched pot in the rear wall of the kiln.
