Description
This is a disused lime kiln located 450 metres southwest of Allolee Farmhouse, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed from squared, partly-snecked stone and features a brick-lined kiln. The large single-cell lime kiln is built into the bankside and has a battered front with returns, accented by rock-faced quoins. The pointed arched opening of the kiln has partly collapsed, and the domed structure has its pots concealed by fallen masonry. At the time of the survey, the kiln was in a ruinous state.
