Description
The stable and carriage house, located approximately 40 yards north-east of Elilaw Farmhouse, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof.
The building is 8 bays long and is primarily single-storey, with a two-storey section in the 6th and 7th bays. On the left side, there is a segmental arch with boarded double doors, and to the right of this, a 6-pane sash window. Further right is the stable, which has a boarded door and flanking half-slatted windows.
Next is the two-storey tack room with a granary above. Each floor has a boarded door, and there is a blacksmith's window on the ground floor. The first-floor window includes owl holes. On the extreme right, there are boarded double doors leading to the carriage house.
The roof is hipped, while the two-storey section has a gabled roof with a square corniced ridge stack.
