Description

This is a disused lime kiln located 300 metres north-east of Great Lonbrough Farmhouse, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The kiln is constructed from partly-snecked, squared rubble laid in thin courses. It features a tall, two-cell design that is built partly into the bankside. The front and return walls are battered and have squared quoins. There are two corbelled, triangular-headed openings, and each cell has two rectangular pots on the rear wall.
