Description
The headstone for John Page, dated 1773, is located approximately 30 metres north-east of the Church of St Mary and St Laurence in Rosedale Abbey. It is made of stone and features a rectangular shape with a shaped head. On the east face, there are two putti holding an hourglass and blowing trumpets above an inscription panel framed by a moulded surround. The inscription reads: "Erected in memory of John Page who departed this life the 13th of July 1773." The west face displays a representation of a door with four raised and fielded panels, with the top panels shaped to match the head of the stone. This headstone closely resembles the Thomas Flunders headstone found in the churchyard of St Mary, Lastingham.
