Description

Daleside Cottage is a house built around 1830. It features whitewashed stucco over limestone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof. The cottage has a central hallway entry and is two storeys high with three first-floor windows. It has a plinth and a six-panel door that is topped by a radial fanlight, all set within a doorcase supported by Tuscan columns and an open pediment with dentils. The door and doorcase are from the late 18th century and were salvaged from a demolished house in Sunderland. The windows are sashes with glazing bars throughout, and the roof is hipped with end stacks. Inside, the drawing room contains a fireplace dating from around 1780, which was also salvaged from Sunderland.
