Description
This is a barn with a granary above and loose boxes attached, located at the rear of Lowstead Farmhouse. It consists of two sections built in the late 18th century and early 19th century. The structure is made of coursed sandstone and has pantile roofs, with irregular quoins on the barn. The barn is two stories high, with a 1.5-storey lean-to byre on the left and a single-storey range of loose boxes attached at right angles. There is a full-height, quoined cart-arch to the left of the barn, with a stable door positioned in the center right. The openings in the single-storey range feature tooled lintels and jambs, and the gables of the two-storey range are coped.
