Description
This building is a barn and pigsty/henhouse located 50 meters north-west of Boulby Grange Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of dressed sandstone, with the pigsty and henhouse made of coursed rubble. The roofs are covered with clay pantiles, featuring stone ridge and gable copings. The north-west and south-east faces of the barn have symmetrical breathers on either side of central openings that contain renewed boarded doors. The lower henhouse is attached to the south-east side of the barn and features a stable door on its north-east face. A pigsty is connected to the south-east gable end of the henhouse. The byre and milking parlour that adjoin the barn have been significantly altered and are not of interest. This building is included for its group value.
