Description

The Watson chest tomb, located approximately 3 metres north of the north-east corner of the Church of St Mary and St Laurence, dates to around 1740 and is dedicated to members of the Watson family. It is made of sandstone and features a plain chest constructed from single stone slabs, topped with a moulded cover. There are traces of lettering visible on the north and west sides, commemorating Sarah, the wife of Thomas Watson, and their daughter, who was buried on January 7th, 1740.
