Description

The Pottery is a mid-19th century house that also serves as a shop and workshop, located in Robin Hood's Bay. It is built from herringbone-tooled and margined sandstone, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building has three storeys and two wide bays. The entrance features an off-centre half-glazed boarded door. To the left is a four-pane shop window, which has lost its lower glazing bar, and to the right is a four-pane sash window. All five openings are set beneath a continuous ashlar lintel. The first and second floors have four-pane sashes with projecting cills. The Pottery is included for its group value with nearby buildings.
