Description

The Old Manor House is a house with two distinct building phases, originating from the 17th century with later alterations. It is constructed of sandstone rubble, with a timber-framed section on the right that is underbuilt in sandstone rubble. The roof is covered with pantiles and features brick stacks.

The left side of the house is a baffle-entry, two-roomed range that includes an inserted through-passage. This section is single-storey and has a 20th-century casement window on the left. To the right, there is an outshut that contains a four-panel door on the left and a 20th-century door within a wooden porch leading to the inserted passage on the right, with a 20th-century casement window in between. The roof is steeply pitched with a central ridge stack.

The right range is two storeys high and has a two-window front. There is a blocked entrance flanked by 20th-century casement windows. The first floor features close studding with arch-braces supporting the tie beam, and there are also 20th-century casement windows. The gable ends display diamond framing.

Inside the left range, there is a large fireplace with a moulded bressumer supported by moulded posts.
