Description
Hilda Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed sandstone with varied tooling and features an incised rendered front. The roof is covered with pantiles and has stone copings, kneelers, and a ridge, along with rebuilt brick chimneys. There is a large extension made of herringbone-tooled sandstone. The house is two storeys high with two bays, and it has an irregular shape, along with a one-storey, one-bay extension on the left. The main entrance is an off-centre five-panel door with an overlight above it. On either side of the door are 12-pane sash windows with projecting cills. On the first floor, there are two similar sash windows that are placed closer together and rest on a cill band. The extension features a four-panel door with a small sidelight and has a parapet front.
