Description
This group of farm outbuildings, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century, is located 35 meters to the northeast of Old Park Farmhouse. The buildings are arranged around a central covered fold-yard. The barn on the eastern side is constructed from chevron-dressed sandstone and features a clay pantile roof with stone ridge and gable coping. The north gable has been altered, and although it is two storeys high, the interior floor has been removed, and it is currently used as a workshop.
To the north, south, and west of the yard are former stables, a byre, and loose boxes, which are now used as kennels. These structures are made of random rubble sandstone, with the southern wall being made of chevron-dressed sandstone. They have hipped and gabled clay pantile roofs, also with stone ridge and gable copings, and are single storey.
The listing also includes a former horse gin attached to the eastern side of the barn, which dates from the early 19th century. It features dressed sandstone piers and half walling, a hipped clay pantile roof, and retains its original roof structure. Other farm outbuildings to the east and north of the barn are not of interest. The group is included partly for its collective significance.
