Description

Ivy Dene is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed of dressed limestone with sandstone quoins, topped by a pantile roof and featuring brick stacks. The house has a central stairhall plan and is one and a half rooms deep. The entrance consists of a central four-panel door beneath a rectangular fanlight. It has four-pane sash windows throughout, except for a later narrow single light sash above the entrance. All windows have stone sills and heavy, milled lintels. A Newcastle fire mark is located over the center window on the first floor. The gables are coped and have kneelers, with stacks at each end. The building is included for its group value.
