Description
Brookside Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a Welsh slate roof, which was probably originally thatched, with stone copings and kneelers. The building has two storeys and two windows, with a prominent plinth. The windows are small 20th-century leaded casements, with those on the first floor just breaking the eaves. There is a small fire window on the right side and a high-pitched roof with end chimneys. The door is located in the right return of the house. There is an early rear extension, and inside, there are chamfered beams and joists in one ground-floor room and half of the other. This farmhouse is part of a former longhouse, from which the cross-passage and byre have been removed from the right end.
