Description
Prospect Farmhouse is a farmhouse, attached cottage, and farm buildings, now functioning as a house and attached cottage. It was built in 1823, as indicated by a reset datestone from the cart arch. The farm buildings have been altered, partially demolished, and rebuilt in 1986. The structure is made of herringbone-tooled sandstone, with some parts rebuilt using reused sandstone, and features a pantile roof with one stone stack and one brick stack.
The house has a central-entry plan and is two stories high, with a three-window front and a single-window extension to the right. The doors are made of six raised and fielded panels, located at the center and center left. Throughout the building, there are 12-pane sash windows with painted stone sills, and all openings have painted herringbone-tooled lintels. The gables are coped with shaped kneelers, and there are stacks on both the left and right of the center. The right gable wall features a rebuilt cart arch that was formerly located on the street; this arch is semicircular and made of voussoirs, with a dated keystone.
