Description
Hawthorn Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 18th century, with alterations and partial rebuilding from the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble sandstone and has a French tile roof. The building is two stories high and features a two-window front, along with a rebuilt section on the right that has one window.
The entrance is a half-glazed door located in the rebuilt section, to the left of an enlarged two-light, 16-pane horizontal sliding sash window. On the first floor, there is a two-light, 16-pane horizontal sliding sash window. To the left of the door, the ground floor has 16-pane sash windows, while the first floor has unequal 9-pane sash windows. All windows have stone sills and heavy plain lintels above the ground floor openings. The lintel over the door is inscribed with the year 1875, indicating the rebuilding that occurred after a fire. The farmhouse features coped gables and shaped kneelers, along with chimney stacks at the ends and right of center.
