Description

Suncliffe Grange is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with an added wing and alterations made in 1973. The building is constructed from coursed squared stone with a herringbone tool finish and has a pantile roof. The main part of the farmhouse is a double-depth structure with two storeys and an attic, featuring three bays, while the later wing has two lower storeys and four first-floor windows set back on the left side.

The main range has a chamfered plinth and a central 20th-century glazed door, flanked by two unequal 6-pane windows from around 1973, which are set in deepened openings. Above these are three 4-pane sash windows. All openings feature herringbone-tooled lintels with raised keystones, and the windows have projecting sills and flush wood frames. To the left of the central window, there is an iron tie-rod visible at the eaves, along with an eaves band. The attic has two gabled windows, added in 1973, which are fitted with 4-pane sashes. The roof is a two-span design with shaped kneelers, ashlar coping, and end stacks; the left stack is made of brick, while the right is of stone.

The left wing has 20th-century openings and is not considered of special interest. At the rear, the main range features two wide windows on each floor, with herringbone-tooled, keyed lintels and projecting stone sills. The ground-floor left and first-floor right windows have side-sliding sashes, while the others have casements. An arched stair window was inserted in 1973.
