Description
Weatherill Barn is a field barn and stable dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed square stone and features a pantile roof. The barn has three bays, with a lower two-bay stable at the west end.
On the south front, the barn displays herringbone-tooled quoins. It has a central narrow doorway with a timber lintel, flanked by two slit vents on each side at lintel height, with ends of iron tie-rods visible above. To the left of the doorway, there is a rectangular opening. The stable has its own doorway with a timber lintel, and the structure is topped with shaped kneelers and stone coping.
At the rear, the barn shows a blocked opposed doorway similar to the front, with two low-level slit vents on each side and one above to the right, along with ends of tie-rods. The right return of the barn features three low-level slit vents and a square opening with a timber lintel in the gable, with the verge formed of large blocks of stone, stepped on the inside.
Inside, the barn has two principal rafter roof trusses, while the stable has a single collared principal rafter roof truss.
