Description
The walled garden, located approximately 40 meters south-west of Handale Abbey Farmhouse, dates from the 18th century. It features a wall made of random sandstone rubble, which includes remnants of dressed copings. The wall encloses a roughly rectangular area and has an entrance at the south end of the east wall. It may also incorporate medieval masonry from the nearby site of a Cistercian Priory. This structure is included for its group value.
