Description

This is a mid-18th century house, originally a single property, that has been divided into two dwellings. It was altered in the 19th century. The house is constructed of brick with a roof of old plain tiles. It was originally five bays wide, with a two-storey lower ridged bay at one end that slightly projects, and a further projecting half-hipped range on the same side.

The front elevation features a 19th-century porch of square plan with a flat roof, an eight-panel door, and a small rectangular fanlight above, sheltered by a flat hood. There are twelve-pane sash windows throughout, with exposed frames, on both floors and within the set-back bays. A raised band runs along the first floor. A moulded timber cornice tops the building. Two hip-roofed dormers are visible on the main roof, one near each end. The left-hand projecting wing has a rectangular bay with a hipped roof, and a cross-window set within a segmental arch on the first floor. All roofs are hipped except for the projecting wing. The main roof also has a flat lead top and stacks on the return ridges.
