Description

Little Popes Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was altered in the 18th and 19th centuries and restored in 1985. It is timber-framed with brick infill, originally thatched but now with a tile roof. The cottage is of 1½ storeys and has three bays, plus a bay containing a stack and passage. A large yew hedge is to the right of the cottage, with an archway cut through in front of the stack/passage bay and a plank door. There are three-light casement windows with lead diamond panes in the other bays. Above the windows on each side of the door are three-light eyebrow dormers. The roof is half-hipped to the right and hipped and swept down to the left, over an outshot weatherboarded stone section. A large ridge stack stands above the door.
