Description
This early 19th century cottage and attached barn comprises two distinct builds. The construction uses brick and has an old plain tile roof. Originally a two-story, three-bay cottage, it was later extended with a lower-ridged crosswing to one end, and a low, two-bay stable attached to the end of the crosswing. The front elevation features a stable on the left with double doors in the central bay. A gabled porch with an archway is centrally positioned in the original bays, with a gabled bay on the right. There are two-light cast-iron lozenge pane casement windows on each side of the original cottage, with ground floor windows sheltered by a label and first-floor windows under small pent-roofed dormers, particularly in the left bay of the door. The crosswing also has a similar window on its first floor. The roof is hipped to the right-hand side, and there are end stacks on the original part of the cottage.
