Description
This is a column sundial located 200 meters southeast of Walhampton House. It dates from the 19th century, although it may have originated in the 18th century and was moved to its current location around 1911. The sundial features a column made of Bath stone that stands 4 meters high, topped with an Ionic capital adorned with lions' masks between scrolls. The sundial itself is on a square-plan block with a dial on each face, and it is surmounted by a ball finial. Surrounding the base is a stone seat supported by stone lions, which were likely added to the earlier column.
