Description

The bridge on the drive southeast of the house site at Paulton's Park, built in 1850, crosses the head of the southern arm of the U-shaped lake, spanning the valley of the Cadnam River. It features three equal arches made of yellow brickwork, with interlocking keys between plain abutments that have moulded stone caps. The spaces between the solid supports are filled with a series of cast-iron rails that slope above the outer spans. The abutments extend as flanking walls, which curve outward to form piers at the ends.
