Description
The Old Brickworks is a former brickworks that has been converted into a residence. It originated in 1790, was remodeled and extended in 1855, and underwent conversion in 1985. The building is constructed of brick and features an old plain tile roof with a tall brick chimney. It is two stories high and consists of two parallel ranges: the main range from 1855 and an original shorter range beside it. The tall chimney is located between the two ranges in the re-entrant angle formed by the roof faces, and it is actually part of the older range.
The entrance facade is at one end, with the later range on the left-hand side. Each range has wide industrial double doors from the 20th century, positioned under longer timber lintels, with a two-light casement window located beneath the end of the left-hand lintel. Near the right-hand end, there is a plank door set under a segmental arch. On the first floor of the left-hand gable, there is an off-centre three-light casement window with a segmental head. The right-hand gable features two segmental head openings with a 20th-century window and a round louvred opening in the gable.
