Description

The farmhouse dates from the mid-17th century and was extended with a crosswing on the southwest side, as well as undergoing later alterations. It has roughcast walls and a greenslate roof laid in diminishing courses, with slates swept round the valley on the northwest side. Various chimneys are present, including one with a circular shaft on the gable end of the crosswing. The front features two doors sheltered by a lean-to porch on the southeast side, two modern sash windows with a single sash above in the wing to the left, and two 19th-century sash windows on each floor to the right. The upper floor has two windows with timber mullions, while the ground floor of the storerooms to the right has a door and an iron-framed casement. Inside, original features include a 17th-century staircase with turned balusters, a timber-framed partition, a plaster cornice and beam to a room at the top of the stairs, and an old stone staircase.
