Description

Greenrigg House is a late 18th-century farmhouse, now a private house, located in Caldbeck. The house has cement-rendered walls with an eaves cornice and painted vertical-jointed quoins. It features a graduated greenslate roof with cement-rendered chimney stacks and prominent scrolled gutter brackets. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The front features a top-glazed six-panel door within a painted stone architrave with a dentilled frieze. Sash windows, largely with glazing bars, are set in painted stone surrounds. The rear of the house is similar, with a matching door, sash windows, and casements (also with glazing bars) all set in stone surrounds. A barn adjoining the main house is not considered to be of particular interest.
