Description
Birk Howe Farmhouse is a 17th-century building constructed from white-washed stone rubble and topped with a slate roof featuring a large chimney. The farmhouse has two low storeys and includes a gabled open porch. On the ground floor, there are three deeply set windows with wooden mullions, consisting of 3, 4, and 5 lights. Above, there are three small modern casement windows. To the right (south) is a stable that shares the same roof. To the left is a former cottage, now part of the house, which is slightly lower and has a gabled porch, two ground floor windows (one with 18 panes and one new), and three new casement windows above. There is also a lean-to stone shed at the left end. Inside, the farmhouse features an original chimney flue made of lath and plaster and a circular stair.
