Description

A farmhouse, now divided into two houses, alongside an adjoining former barn, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. The building is constructed from a mix of slate and cobble rubble, with a graduated greenslate roof and brick chimney stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high and comprises two bays, each with sash windows set within sandstone surrounds. Gate Farm has a plank front door. Gate Cottage has a 20th-century door partly within an alternate-block red sandstone surround. The upper sash windows have double glazing bars and sandstone surrounds. The former barn has a loft door. A 20th-century garage extension to the front is not considered to be of architectural interest.
