Description

This is an early 19th-century house in Mungrisdale. It is constructed from mixed slate and cobble rubble with V-jointed sandstone quoins, and has a graduated slate roof with stone chimney stacks. The house is two stories high and has two bays. A six-panel door is set within an alternate-block surround, topped by a keyed frieze. Sash windows with glazing bars are set in sandstone surrounds. The building served as the schoolmaster’s house and was likely built around the same time as the school itself, in 1835.
