Description
Chapel House and the adjoining former barn is a farmhouse and barn that has been converted into a private house. It is likely from the 18th century, with alterations dated 1814, which are inscribed above the entrance. The building features whitewashed rubble walls topped with a graduated greenslate roof and has painted rendered chimney stacks. The barn, made of similar stonework, has a 20th-century tile roof.
The structure is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a lower two-storey barn on the right. There is a 20th-century door set in an alternate-block red sandstone surround beneath a keyed frieze. Flanking this door are double sash windows, with additional sash windows located above, all within red sandstone surrounds. A small fire window is positioned at the extreme right. The barn includes a plank door in a red sandstone alternate-block surround, along with a 20th-century glazed loft door and an opening, as well as a wooden mullioned opening in the end wall. Additions to the left of the building are not of interest.
